Get Pingy Pty Ltd trading as Get Pingy (ABN 31 700 271 629, ACN 700 271 629) is the entity responsible for personal information handled through the Get Pingy website and service. We handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), even where an exemption may otherwise apply.

1. Personal information we collect

  • Account and business contact details (name, business name, email, phone number).
  • Demo, contact and early-access enquiry details you submit through our forms.
  • Phone numbers you configure Get Pingy to reply on your behalf.
  • Call metadata — inbound caller numbers, times, missed-call events.
  • Inbound and outbound SMS content processed through the service.
  • Customer lead details you or your callers provide.
  • Billing and transaction information (handled by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers).
  • IP address, device and login information for security and audit.
  • Website analytics, in aggregated or pseudonymised form where feasible.
  • Support correspondence.
  • Consent records (marketing consent, terms acceptance, opt-out records).

2. How we collect information

We collect personal information directly from you when you submit a form, create an account or contact us. We also collect information automatically through your use of the service (call and SMS metadata, security logs) and from third-party providers acting on our instructions (see our Third-Party Providers page).

3. Purposes of collection and use

  • Providing, operating, supporting and improving the Get Pingy service.
  • Sending automated SMS replies on your instruction.
  • Verifying identity, preventing fraud and enforcing our terms.
  • Processing payments and issuing invoices/receipts.
  • Responding to enquiries, support requests and complaints.
  • Meeting legal, regulatory and tax obligations.
  • Sending service and account notifications (these are operational messages, not marketing).
  • Sending marketing communications only where you have separately consented.

4. Disclosure to service providers

We disclose personal information to service providers acting on our behalf, such as payment processing, SMS carriage, database and hosting, email delivery, workflow automation and analytics. Providers are bound by contract or their own privacy commitments. See our Third-Party Providers and Subprocessors page for the current list.

5. Overseas storage or processing

Some of our service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia (including in the United States and the European Economic Area). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the APPs. We do not claim that all data is stored only in Australia.

6. Security safeguards

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, RLS on our database, audit logging). No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach likely to result in serious harm occurs, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law (for example, tax records for 7 years). When no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. Customer SMS content and call metadata are retained for the period reasonably needed to operate the service and support disputes.

8. Access, correction and privacy complaints

You may request access to or correction of your personal information, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing hello@getpingy.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days). If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Direct marketing

We only send marketing communications where you have consented. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing us.
